Search App Concept
UI/UX Design
I've been lucky to travel South America the last couple of months and enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing the gifts of nature you wouldn't see elsewhere.
During this trip, I've used search engines almost all the time, looking for places to stay, flights, and attractions nearby so this project came naturally.
Wireframes
My objective for the wireframes was very specific - create a relaxing and inviting experience for the users, and make them want to use the app. To achieve this, I kept their relaxing background in place throughout the entire use of the app.
I also significantly reduced the amount of text/ icons/ pictures, that can take more attention than necessary. I kept the search bar visible on the inner pages, to ensure users have quick access to any content they want.
Home Page
On the home page, I wanted to keep it neat and consistent with the design, very minimal and straight to the point. The user has the option to search by text or by taking a picture.
Informative Presentation
Present the relevant information simply, letting the user see the search result based on the engine's auto-complete ai. The text is presented in a calm and relaxed way, and the pictures are scrollable for easier use.
Businesses Results
When brainstorming the business results, I began by mapping the most important information a user needs to receive: Address, Work Hours, Phone, Link, Photos, and Rating.I embedded those items in the same design language I used throughout the design, the slidable overview at the beginning. After that I decided to show the links for the other search results with a more familiar way to make the usage more intuitive.
Other Categories
As the number of stars in the sky is infinite so is the number of different search categories. I've tried to put forward the most relevant kind of result I personally use, but I believe this design can be used for all other categories as well.
