Introduction:
From Google Play description: "..MundiGames is the first community of classic & casino games players on web and mobile. Enjoy all your favorites classic games for hours and hours of fun solo or multiplayer, for fun or glory by winning one of our prestigious tournaments."
MundiJuegos (or MundiGames in English) stands as a thriving social casino app with a substantial following in Spanish-speaking regions. True to its name, the app offers a diverse array of games, ranging from slots, bingo, and poker to beloved local favorites like Chincon and Buraco.
My Contribution to the Game: About seven months ago, I joined the MundiJuegos team in as a senior marketing artist. My role entailed shaping the app's artistic language and directing the marketing art, all while assisting junior designers in honing their craft and striving to set industry standards in casino marketing.
On this page, I delve into my role in designing the tournament feature within the game. I'll discuss the key considerations I took into account and showcase how this feature has been integrated into today's designs within the game.
MundiJuegos Tournaments:
Within the app, users have the exciting opportunity to participate in tournaments and vie for additional rewards based on their rankings. These tournaments are thoughtfully categorized into four distinct types:
-
Daily Tournaments
-
Weekly Tournaments
-
Special Tournaments: Occurring during specific times of the year or events.
-
Flash Tournaments: Short, unexpected competitions lasting just a few hours.
The Layout:
Tournament can involve multiple games or focus on a single game. To optimize visual impact, we chose a layout that maximizes the display of well-crafted and meticulously thought-out art on the right side. All other essential elements, including titles, text, and logos, are seamlessly integrated on the left side. This approach empowers designers to place a strong emphasis on the artistic dimension.
The Titles:
The titles naturally follow a linear hierarchy, moving from daily to weekly, followed by special tournaments, and separately, the flash tournaments. This hierarchy is reflected in the design through a carefully selected color scheme, ensuring clarity and visual coherence.
The main text can then be changeable by the marketing artist to be general, event based, or unity editable.
This allowed the designer to have all the text parts almost ready and game the most work time to create the best art for the tournament.
Below are the implications of this template in different tournaments campaigns we designed
